This is a function for a Financial Accountant who is a fluent in this field. About the Financial Accountant (12-month contract) function: In this business critical function, you will be responsible for assisting the team on the day-to-day operations of the month-end and quarter-end/year-end accounting and reporting process. This is a function that will require you to be part of the pension and retirement benefits accounting and reporting team in Singapore. The team is responsible for all operational aspects around accounting, control and reporting of pension and other post-retirement benefits globally across various legal entities with a defined benefit pension plan within the bank. Key Job responsibilities: » Preparation of the monthly pension instructions to legal entities and posting of journal entries in various legal entities and currencies under US GAAP, IFRS and CH GAAP » Monthly reconciliation of the ledger against the pension instructions » Monthly pension forecast and variance analysis » Monthly and quarterly reporting including the annual statutory disclosures » Year-end audit » Address ad hoc queries and requests from legal entity controllers, divisional finance, tax, consolidation team, external reporting and senior management To succeed in this Financial Accountant (12-month contract) function, you will need to be expertiseable about accounting processes. Key Requirements: » Graduate in accounting/finance (professional accounting degree is a plus) » Minimum of two years' post-qualification practice in a high-pressure, deadline-focused commercial environment » Minimum of five years' significant practice (within banking industry) » Strong technical background in accounting and management reporting as well as expertise of US GAAP and IFRS pension accounting » A high degree of responsibility and accountcapability » Prior practice in regulatory reporting, able to handle large data (Proficient in MS Excel/Marcos) » Prior practice in Qlikview/Python/SQL » Comfortable dealing with financial related data » capability to lgain and understand relatively quickly » A logical mindset with a high level of attention to detail » capability to work independently and within a team environment This is a leading global banking institution.
