You will be part of the Modelling and Research team under the Environmental Monitoring and Modelling Branch in the Pollution Control Department. You will work with a range of air and water quality models and also undertake research projects to further the knowledge of the air and water quality issues in Singapore. You will be responsible for the following: » Run simulations on air or water quality models to (i) assess impact of new developments, (ii) track impact of pollution incidents, and (iii) identify sources of pollution, to support NEA's policies and operations » Customise and validate air and water quality models for use » Develop and enhance air dispersion modelling systems including an air and water quality forecasting system for Singapore » Lead research projects on knowledge the sources, characteristics and environmental chemistry of air and water pollutants, as well as assess trends of air and water quality data » Keep abreast with the latest developments in air and water quality modelling and research » Work with local and international institutes and cultivate significant research partnerships Requirements » Degree or Masters in Environmental/Chemical Engineering » Some knowledge in air quality modelling, water quality, hydrodynamic modelling preferred, 1-2 years of significant practice is advantageous. » Knowledge in GIS, data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and/or statistics will be an advantage » Demonstrate capability to undertake research work both individually and part of a team » Good command of spoken and written English and good communication expertise » Demonstrate capability to undertake research work both individually and part of a team » Driven, self-motivated and resourceful » Demonstrate critical and analytical thinking expertise and capability to articulate thoughts and views clearly
