Job Opportunity: Clinical Research Coordinator, Optometrist (1 year renewable contract):Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI)

Job description:


tasks AND Job responsibilities:
   » supervises the planning, scheduling, and carrying out of day-to-day clinical activities and procedures, ensuring efficient workflow and adequate care and treatment of research subjects.
   » Ensures that all clinical activities are carried out in conformity with established research protocols and standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedural requirements. E.g. Singapore Good Clinical Practice Program (SGGCP).
   » Maintains Investigator Site File (ISF). supervises and tabulates the expenses incurred for the study as budgeted.
   » Prepares various study materials (e.g. invitation letters, brochures, screening log forms etc).
   » Serves as the primary point of liaison and coordination between investigators, ancillary departments, research subjects, sponsoring organizations, and/or regulating bodies.
   » Management of data entry and preparation of reports to share the study status (e.g. recruitment etc.,) with the manager
   » Participates in quality assurance and safety audits ( e.g. Hand Hygiene audit and Emergency trolley).
   » supervises and coordinates the recruitment, study screening, study follow up visits, and study treatment of patient research subjects; coordinates services with other internal departments and allied service agencies
   » .Recruit participants for various qualitative and quantitative (questionnaire-located) studies
   » Support the lead moderator/interviewer in the gathering of insights and practices of study participants recruited in qualitative research conducted by HSR, primarily through focus groups and in-depth interviews
   » Under supervision, to conduct thematic analysis of qualitative data and report findings to the manager
   » Under supervision, develop and execute various data collection tools such as survey questionnaires, and focus group moderator/interviewer guides
   » Collect high quality clinical data (e.g. visual acuity and imaging) and patient-related data (e.g. questionnaires)
   » .Performs miscellaneous job-related tasks as assigned by manager.

Job Requirements:
   » Degree/ Diploma in Optometry. 
   » Excellent communication and interpersonal expertise, especially with senior citizens
   » Good teamwork and organizational expertise. Able to work meticulously and independently

Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) was incorporated on 3 March 1989 and commenced operation in October 1990. Information technology is the designated national centre for ophthalmology within Singapore’s public sector healthcare network, with a faculty of close to 80 ophthalmologists and more than 800 staff. SNEC spearheads and coordinates the provision of specialised ophthalmological services with emphasis on quality education and research.

Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) was established in 1997 as Singapore’s national research institute for ophthalmic and vision research. Information technology is the research arm of SNEC, and affiliated to the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Duke-NUS Medical School, as part of the SingHealth-Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre.
